CEASEFIRE NOW! Vigils

All Week - MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE students have just launched their campus encampment on McCullough Lawn. They are calling for everyone to join them in solidarity. They have tents, supplies, and planned activities and teach-ins to last for weeks. They are demanding that Middlebury College commit to: 1) Divestment & Financial Transparency; 2) Freedom of Expression & Protester Amnesty; 3) Academic & Cultural Boycott; 4) End of Silence Amidst Genocide. All students and community members please support their struggle!

AROUND THE REGION ON  MAY DAY

WILLISTON - from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. To honor the Palestinian trade unionsts’ call for protests and strikes on May Day in solidarity with Palestine. Vermont Coalition for Palestinian Liberation is calling on everyone to join Migrant Justice’s picket at Hannaford supermarket t0 pressure Hannaford to join Milk with Dignity, guaranteeing better wages and working conditions for workers on Vermont farms. Join the picket at 78 Marshall Avenue in Williston.

HANOVER, NH</strong> – Mayday Concert and Dance Party, celebrating GRADUATE STUDENTS UNIONIZATION STRIKE ; Labor for Palestinian Liberation to support the Dartmouth campus encampment and occupation.

BURLINGTON-Rally to encourage unions to endorse Apartheid Free Community and join the struggle for Palestinian liberation.

Through May 3th - from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM: On-line Auction for Children’s Medical Relief in Gaza. Sponsored by the Hardwick Peace Vigil Committee. The auction will benefit the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCFR) and Medical Aid for Palestinians. See what's up for auction and place your bids here.

May 4th – GREENSBORO – 12:00 – 4:00 PM - Celebration of Palestinian Culture and Resilience at Greensboro United Church of Christ, East Craftsbury Road in Greensboro. Program from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, including Palestinian-American speaker Hamed Bakir reflecting on aspects of Palestinian culture dear to his heart. Palestinian poems will be recited, and a Palestinian song and dance will be taught to all who wish to learn and enjoy them. Samples of Palestinian clothing will be on display and Palestinian finger food will be available. Jewish Voice for Peace member, Jason Hirsch, will also be on hand to share his perspectives. Several videos highlighting aspects of Palestinian life and culture will be screened for those who would like to see them. There will also be a silent auction to support Medical Aid for Children in Gaza. The auction will be of items not yet bid on and still available after the end of the current on-line auction which will close at 8 PM on May 3rd.

May 4th – BARRE – 1:00 PM the Vermont Coalition for Palestinian Liberation will meet at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 19 Church Street. Join VCPL for our organizing meeting! We will discuss plans for solidarity with the student uprising for BDS, upcoming protests around commencements and Rafah, and our ongoing campaign for organizations, faith groups, unions, and businesses to adopt Apartheid Free Communities and Apartheid Free Resolutions on city ballots across the state.

May 5th – MONTPELIER – 3:00 PM. Screening at the Savoy theater of Israelism. The film’s director will be at the screening! Buy your tickets now before they sell out!
